Sportsnet’s 10th annual Canadian Athlete of the Year contest is here, and it is time for you the fans to decide who should be submitted for consideration. So send us your picks!<\/p>\n

Head to Twitter and submit your choice and add the hashtag #CDNathlete2012. The top six nominees will then be presented in the November 29th edition of Sportsnet magazine and final online voting will commence on sportsnet.ca<\/p>\n

It has been a fantastic year for Canadian athletes. Christine Sinclair led the women’s Olympic team to a thrilling bronze medal victory in London, while Steven Stamkos scored an incredible 60 goals for the Tampa Bay Lightning. On the ball diamond, Joey Votto slugged his way to a .337 average and led the Cincinnati Reds to 97 wins and a division title.<\/p>\n
