Head to Twitter and submit your choice and add the hashtag #CDNathlete2012. The top six nominees will then be presented in the November 29th edition of Sportsnet magazine and final online voting will commence on sportsnet.ca

It has been a fantastic year for Canadian athletes. Christine Sinclair led the women’s Olympic team to a thrilling bronze medal victory in London, while Steven Stamkos scored an incredible 60 goals for the Tampa Bay Lightning. On the ball diamond, Joey Votto slugged his way to a .337 average and led the Cincinnati Reds to 97 wins and a division title.
