The Connecticut Sun are adding a former two-time scoring champion.
Brittney Griner is finalizing a seven-figure deal to join the Sun, sources told ESPN's Alexa Philippou on Friday.
The 10-time all-star is coming off a down year with the Atlanta Dream after 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury. She averaged career lows in points (9.8), assists (0.8), rebounds (5.2) and blocks (1.2).
Despite 2025 not being her best season, Griner is a proven star in the WNBA. She's a WNBA Champion (2014), scoring champion (2017, 2019), two-time Defensive Player of the Year (2014, 2015) and three-time Olympic gold medalist (2016, 2020, 2024).
The Sun are set to move to Houston, Griner's birthplace, from Connecticut in 2027.
